Welcome to Daegu

After around 12 hours of travel we finally arrived in Daegu along with most of the members of the men’s and women’s 4x100m teams.

The reception that we got when we entered Daegu airport was UNREAL and our first experience of just how friendly the South Korean people are. We got into the Athlete’s village at around midnight and were shown to our accommodation that we will be staying in whilst we are over here. WOW! We are staying in brand new self contained apartment style housing each apartment had around 3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, living room etc. we really are spoilt here, the support staff go out of their way to ensure we have everything we need and that we are happy.

Another week down which brings me one week closer to hopping on the plane to Korea. We were blessed with a beautiful week up here, while there was still the usual cool breeze, we had ALOT of sunshine.
We have been in Daegu for just over a week now, more of the Australian team as well as teams from other countries so the atmosphere is growing.
