Tonbridge, UK – Olympic Training Facility

It has been a fairly quiet week for me; I was supposed to have a race in Loughborough on Thursday Aug 11th but due to the riots and uncertainty of how safe it was to travel around, I decided to stay in Tonbridge, UK where I have been since Sunday night.

Tonbridge is going to be the training centre next year pre-Olympic Games and it was a great opportunity this year to check out the accomodation, eating halls and also track and gym facilities.

Everyone was really helpful here and excited that the Australian team will be around for 4-6wks prior to entering the 2012 London Olympic Village. Tomorrow MattyB and I will begin the journey to Daegu, where we will arrive into the village late Saturday night. I have heard reports already that the village is amazing so I’m pretty excited to get there!

Another week down which brings me one week closer to hopping on the plane to Korea. We were blessed with a beautiful week up here, while there was still the usual cool breeze, we had ALOT of sunshine.
We have been in Daegu for just over a week now, more of the Australian team as well as teams from other countries so the atmosphere is growing.
