Training Partners…You Don’t Have To Marry Yours!

In my early 20s my great Uncle used to be stoked that I’d come to visit him and my aunty every few weeks. They always had great family stories to tell me and taught me how to play the piano. Uncle Don would always say to me, “You know a boy is never going to stop and catch you if you keep running!”

And then came Lachlan! He turned the tables and has been the only boy I’ve ever wanted to chase…literally!

Finding the right training partner is analogous to finding the right person to marry. You need to trust your partner will set out at a pace you can handle, won’t be destructive enough to sabotage your training session for their selfish advantage and you really need to enjoy spending time with them. You particularly want them to like you and want to continue training with you, despite being with you when you are at your most tired state.
