Sitting on the American Airlines flight to Boston I started to think about the trip and more importantly now that altitude is over, what is going to happen next.


After 58 days training at a higher elevation in Boulder our return to sea level is only moments away. What is fresh in my mind is one single quote, “I hate to lose more than I love to win” Billy Beane, played by Brad Pitt in Moneyball.

In my previous blog I took my hat off to all those people out there who start a running program and make it past the first month. They are not about winning a race, they are about not losing to their number one competitor, their inner voice. Their motivation is about building confidence, a better body image and physical structure and about achieving their personal goals (ie. finishing a race, running a personal best or training 3 times per week for a month without taking the couch option on a tough evening).
