Back in business

This blogs been silent for nearly two weeks, but I don’t feel too bad because there really hasn’t been anything going on worth a full write up.

I considered pumping out some kind of romanticised musing on the importance of taking a break from running but to be honest, I think everyone grasps that idea pretty comfortable and in the end playing video games for a week doesn’t provide too much to get romantic about.

I have used the time off though to accomplish a few things. I finished off my summer Spanish classes and have confirmed that I will be graduating (yay!) in a week. I have spent a lot of time fiddling with my fish tank and making a fake rock wall to hide the filters and provide shelter for some of the weaker fish. Fish keeping is my only real hobby outside running and I take it very seriously. I have Malawian Cichlids that are very aggressive and mean so this is my way to try and stop them from killing each other. At $8-$12 a fish it’s always disappointing when the new guy becomes an expensive snack.

It’s taken me a couple of day’s to get around to writing this blog. If you’ve ever done long-haul international flights, you’ll know that they are comprehensively exhausting.
I’m back in State College after a 16 hour travel day yesterday that involved a flight to Pitt via Phoenix and then a car ride home. I had an awesome couple of days on the Canadian west coast and I’ll fire off a quick recap.
Commonwealth Games representative Julian Wruck has had the leading performance of Australian collegiate athletes competing at the NCAA championships, winning the discus.
A big thank you to everyone who offered me support and advice over the last few days. It’s been a pretty wild ride.
