Paul Di Bella represented Australia at two Olympic Games so he knows a bit of about running under pressure.

Today he hopes some of that knowledge can rub off on his pupil, Andrew McCabe, 21, one of the favourites to take out the Stawell Gift.

This is Di Bella's first venture into coaching and he's been in regular contact with his former mentor, Cliff Mallet, for advice about how to get McCabe ready.

"His advice was to keep Andrew calm," Di Bella said. "How he deals with the pressure is what's going to define him.
