Sally Pearson has extended her winning streak to 18 in winning the 100m hurdles at the Weltklasse meet in Zurich, Switzerland.

The newly crowned world champion was unchallenged in her 12.52 second win, with her 0.29 second victory being a tenth of a second greater than her winning margin in Daegu.
The event was non-scoring for the Diamond League point score, but Pearson holds the lead in the competition with only the Van Damme Memorial in Brussels, Belgium to run. Despite only recording three scoring performances out of a possible six so far during the series, Pearson holds a one point lead and will need to be defeated by world championships silver medallist Danielle Carruthers to lose the title.
Pearson has already amassed at least US$90,000 in prize money this European season through her world championships victory and three Diamond League wins, and the Queenslander seems to have plans for that money, as well as what a Brussels payday of US$50,000 ($40K Diamond League series prize and $10K meet winnings) and sponsorship bonuses will bring.
"There's house on the market on the Gold Coast and if it's still there when I get home I am hoping to go and buy it!” Pearson said.
However, in the interim she will change her focus from the hurdles to the flat, taking to the fast track in Rieti, Italy in an attempt to better the national 100m record of 11.12 seconds held by Melinda Gainsford-Taylor.
"If the Australian record falls then that's great but if it doesn't don't be too disappointed,” Pearson cautioned.
